Conditional Probability

The probability of an event occurring, given that another event has already happened.

Conditional Probability

The probability of event $A$, given that event $B$ has already occurred:

$$P(A|B) = \frac{P(A \cap B)}{P(B)}, \quad P(B) \neq 0$$

Multiplication Theorem

$$P(A \cap B) = P(A) \cdot P(B|A)$$
