Mole Concept and Stoichiometry
The chemist's counting unit, and how it is used to calculate quantities in a reaction.
The Mole
A mole is the amount of substance containing as many elementary particles as there are atoms in exactly 12 grams of carbon-12 — this number is Avogadro's number (approximately 6.022 × 1023).
Percentage Composition
The percentage by mass of each element present in a compound.
Stoichiometry
Stoichiometry uses the mole concept and a balanced chemical equation to calculate the quantities of reactants consumed or products formed in a reaction.
