For zero order and first order reactions, integrated rate equations relate concentration directly to time, and allow calculation of the half-life of the reaction.

According to collision theory, reactions occur when particles collide with sufficient energy (the activation energy) and correct orientation. The Arrhenius equation describes how rate constant varies with temperature.
