Root, Stem and Leaf

The vegetative parts of a flowering plant.

Root System

Anchors the plant and absorbs water and minerals. Can be a tap root (dicots) or fibrous root (monocots) system.

Stem

Supports the plant and transports water, minerals and food between roots and leaves.

Leaf

The primary site of photosynthesis, typically consisting of a leaf base, petiole, and lamina (blade).
