Biot-Savart Law and Ampere's Law
Two ways to calculate the magnetic field created by an electric current.
Biot-Savart Law
Gives the magnetic field produced at a point due to a small current-carrying element — useful for calculating fields from wires of various shapes.
Ampere's Circuital Law
For situations with high symmetry, this law relates the magnetic field around a closed loop to the current passing through it — much like Gauss's Law does for electric fields.
