Self and Mutual Inductance
How a changing current can induce an EMF in the same coil, or in a nearby one.
Self-Inductance
A changing current in a coil induces an EMF in that same coil, opposing the change — this property is called self-inductance.
Mutual Inductance
A changing current in one coil can induce an EMF in a nearby, separate coil — the basis of how a transformer works.
