Electric Charge and Coulomb's Law
The fundamental property behind all electrical phenomena, and the law describing the force between charges.
Electric Charge
Electric charge is a fundamental property of matter. It is quantized (exists in integer multiples of e) and conserved (the total charge of an isolated system stays constant).
Coulomb's Law
F = k(q₁q₂) / r²
The force between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Note: Like charges repel; unlike charges attract.
