Huygens's Principle
Every point on a wavefront acts as a source of secondary wavelets; the new wavefront is the envelope of these wavelets.
Interference of Light
When two coherent light waves overlap, they can combine constructively (brighter) or destructively (darker) — demonstrated famously by Young's Double-Slit Experiment.
