Simple Harmonic Motion
The most fundamental type of repeating, back-and-forth motion in physics.
What is SHM?
In Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM), the restoring force on an object is always directed towards a fixed equilibrium point, and is proportional to the object's displacement from that point.
Examples: a mass on a spring, and (for small angles) a simple pendulum, both approximate SHM.
